  • When it comes to housing the Councils just don’t mind
  • IT’S LOOKING GOOD

  • Gay News People: Denis Lemon, Michael Mason, Peter Mundy
    Stephen MacLean, Tim Skinner
Jean-Claude Thevenin (Design), Derek Jardine, Pascal Danot (Photography), David Seligman, David Rushton (Design Assistant)
  • Sandi Rutenberg (Typesetting)
  • Gay News Special Friends: Roger Baker, Denis Cohn, Barry Conley, Anna Raeburn, Laurence Collinson, Graham Chapman, Brian Dax, Antony Grey, Peter MacMillan, Manus Sasonkin, Bearnard Searey, David Sherlock, David Hart, Maxie Bacon, Tim Morris, Mike Nightingale, Christopher Ambury, Carl Hill, Richard Watkins, and Ian C Dunn (Scottish Correspondent).
  • Special Thanks To: Richard & Norman, Ken & Allan, David & Anthony, Peter & Adrian, Peter, Eric, Ken, David, Richard, Jim, and all the other Friends and Loved Ones.

  • The paper surveys England’s local government and finds none of them prepared to discriminate against LGBT+ people when it comes to council housing. This is the last edition to be distributed by Gay News staff: from now on, Moore Harness, distributors of Private Eye and IT, will take over. The paper has suggested to the police that it puts up notices in public lavatories when the police are entrapping men who have sex with men, saving a lot of police time and money. The police are unenthusiastic. An article by Della Aleksander tries to slay some myths on trans* issues that have crept into the paper. Reviews include Sing It Again Rod and French Without Tears at the Young Vic.

  • “Walt Disney Productions celebrating their fiftieth year as purveyors of good clean family fun have shown themselves remarkably able to move with the times. Judging by the vast amount of stills they supplied to Britain’s two main film magazines, all of which have large gay readerships, you’d think the film was all about the shapely Jan Michael Vincent careering around Africa in the nude for 90 minutes.” – David Seligman reviewing The World’s Greatest Athlete, page 16
